I have a very simple truth I live by and share with my team. “Readers are leaders, learners are earners, and those who apply what they learn succeed.” Sounds simple enough but it’s very true.
Studies show that some of the most successful people in life read every single day. They look for ways to expand their thinking and keep their ideas fresh. They find new ways to connect with others and communicate their ideas more effectively.
Now, some people might read this and say, “I don’t have time to read every day.” I’m not saying you need to read for hours and hours. I’m saying, find 15 minutes to invest in your personal growth. Maybe it means getting up 15 minutes earlier, or shutting down social media for 15 minutes a day. We all make time for what’s most important to us. Is your personal growth important? Do you want to get ahead in life? I know you do or you wouldn’t be reading this blog. Let me encourage you because you can change your life in as little as 15 minutes a day. When you make your personal growth a priority, it will affect all other areas of your life as a result. Learn to become more effective but don’t just learn it, do it.
Growing up, a friend of mine had more diet books than anyone else I knew. She loved to read and learn, but she didn’t put what she learned into practice so her weight stayed the same. If you are reading and learning, and not changing, that’s when you need to look at what you are doing and ask yourself if you are applying what you learn.
Every one of us are given the same 24 hours in a day. We all have a brain and we all have the ability to make choices. This is what separates those who are successful and those who wish they were successful. Stop wishing and start reading, learning, and applying. Invest in your growth, make new choices, and experience the success you are looking for.
